Back in the beginning…

Back to Baking…

After over 40 years of owning and running 3 bakeries in Boston, Cambridge and Chestnut Hill, as well as authoring 3 baking books, I thought I was surely done with baking (and eating sweets). Fast forward… 7 years of retirement, now grandma to my darling Layla and having just celebrated my 75th birthday, the urge to bake has come over me again. I look forward first to sharing recipes that were happily devoured by my customers for years. In addition I will strive to include new recipes many of which use alternate ingredients for those who value a more natural approach to desserts and for those who must avoid gluten.

I am starting with my most popular items because they are tried and true. However, I have found that having taken a break from baking, I have actually made some minor adjustments to some of them; It’s kind of like when you get some distance from a relationship, you come back to it with a new perspective. I am so looking forward to answering your questions and receiving your feedback on my recipes. Before you embark on baking any of the recipes on this site, please, please read my Suggestions For An Enhanced Baking Experience, which offers you some extremely important insight into how to become a more confident baker.
